Twitter Chat is a way educators can participate in a chat with other educators and professionals, about their subject area/grade level. It meets this standard because it connects you with a global learning network. It also helps you to stay up to date with research because the chats happen weekly and are always current.

The technology skills assignment shows my progression of skills from the beginning of the semester to the end. It meets this standard because at the beginning of the semester I set a learning goal for myself (which I met). It also made me realize the importance of staying up to date with technology, because there is always more I can learn.

My lesson plan taught students digital citizenship by having them play a board game we created. The lesson plan relates to this standard because there is a section on differentiation, where we make sure the lesson meets each students needs, no matter how diverse. It also has an anticipated difficulties section, where we discuss students access to technology.

My group and I taught our computational thinking lesson at Batchelor Middle School. We taught our lesson and played our board game, with a student who had a disability. This connects to the standard because we had to alter our lesson in order to meet his diverse needs. It ended up being such a wonderful experience.

My lesson plan taught students digital citizenship by having them play a board game we created. Our goals were for students to be able to decide what information is safe to post and to identify what is appropriate social behavior in social media interactions. It meets the standard because it taught them how to protect their identity and data when going online. Our board game incorporated situational questions that prepared them for their future online encounters.

I used Piktochart to create an infographic that teaches students how to stay safe on the internet. It meets the standard because it taught students how to exam if an online source is credible or not. It also taught students how to manage their personal data, so that it wasn't public.

My group and I taught our computational thinking lesson at Batchelor Middle School. This relates to the standard because my group had to dedicate time to collaborate when creating the board game. We also had to use cultural competency when attending the Middle School, because we taught a student who had a disability. We had to work together to make sure our board game was functional for the student.

My inquiry based lesson plan used the driving question, " Can you create an imaginary planet that could sustain life?", to guide students in learning about the solar system. It relates to the standard because inquiry based learning collaborates with the students and encourages them to do their own learning. The lesson plan also uses digital resources, because we have students do a website research assignment.
|
I made a jeopardy game that uses first grade math standards. This relates to the standard because I used the website to personalize the game to my needs. I was able to perfectly align my math standards to this digital tool. The game is also learner-driven because students get to choose the questions to answer.
|
I used nearpod to teach students a first grade standard about the elements of a fairy tale. This relates to the standard because I was able to use this digital tool to teach my standard in the most interactive way. This website is a great tool for engaging students in learning, because it asks for student participation.

My inquiry based lesson plan used the driving question, " Can you create an imaginary planet that could sustain life?", to guide students in learning about the solar system. This relates to the standard because in this lesson, I am more of a facilitator rather than a teacher because I am guiding them to learn what they want. This will create a culture in my classroom where students take independence over their education.
|
My Computational Thinking lesson plan used games to teach students what an algorithm is. This relates to the standard because we were responsible for managing their use of technology. In our lesson, our hook was to have the students go to a website and play a game. We would have to facilitate and make sure they only play the game we specified, and not go to a different part of the website.

Resource Evaluation allows future educators to write an evaluation of a technology tool that can be used in their future classroom using the 4E's framework (effectiveness, efficiency, engagement, and enhancement). For mine, I evaluated Kahoot. This relates to the standard because it allowed be to reflect on my use of this technology and decide if it was valuable or not. It also helped with my competency on the resource, because I got an in-depth look at it.

For my digital citizenship lesson plan, we created a quizlet using the vocabulary we incorporated in our board game. We used the quizlet vocabulary test as our assessment because it gave us instant feedback. This relates to the standard because we were able to immediately share the assessment data with the students, which allowed us to see what we as educators needed to improve on.
